Reshaping Migration through AI

Amidst the global pandemic, the EU Commission was grappling with the complexities of migration. The unprecedented influx of refugees and migrants, coupled with the pandemic’s restrictions, created a volatile situation. Riskey’s founder Apoorva made a thorough risk analysis using the first model of Riskey’s AI, TrustBot1 to identify potential risks.

Based on the risk analysis, Apoorva proposed a risk mitigation strategy that included risk transfer, avoidance, and mitigation measures. These recommendations were later incorporated into the ten-point plan by the European Commission. Two critical recommendations were to address a surge in arrivals by boat on the Italian coast and immediate assistance from the EU’s asylum agency to handle migrants to identify who has the right to asylum and speedy return of those without the right.

These recommendations underscored Riskey’s AI framework’s adeptness in navigating complexities, offering actionable insights even in the most challenging circumstances, and showcased our ability to tailor risk analysis to specific contexts, demonstrating adaptability and delivering valuable insights in complex situations.
